Are you interested in improving your climbing skills and technique this year?
The adult Academy Spring trial takes place this evening at 7pm, hosted by Boulders' senior climbing instructor Tym. Climbers meet him in the Boulders cafe at 7pm. Here's a piccie of Tym, so that you can look out for him...
Climbers wishing to get involved will be selected during this evening’s trial. Any competent climbers who climb with us at Boulders are welcome to attend, where you will be eligible for selection.
Those invited to join the Academy will receive top climbing and bouldering training from Boulders’ coaches. This term, the focus of the weekly Academy training sessions will include basic sport climbing training techniques and skills.
We’re always on the lookout for new talent; regular competitions, including The Crucible, the Route Master, as well as competitions throughout the country, such as Blocfest, are the place to shine. The Academy is also often the spring board into the Boulders climbing team. All members of the squad will be encouraged to participate in competition climbing, which means travelling and climbing with the Boulders climbing team all around the UK.
As part of the adult Academy, we also organise and encourage outdoor climbing trips in the summer months. Check out the video below where the Academy enjoyed their first trad climbing experience with a trip away to Saddle Head in Portland.
