Meet the Team

Boulders staff; they’re a great bunch of people and next time you spot one make sure you say hello.  We want to hear about your latest adventures, especially if it involves climbing rocks!

It’s not a cliché to say it, our team is everything.  Without these guys running the show, setting the routes, taking everyone climbing, playing their part and generally being fantastic, Boulders just wouldn’t work.

There’s a huge wealth of climbing experience between them too, take a look at the gallery, it shows our team doing what they do best – climbing! Don’t be afraid to meet our team and quiz our knowledge either, we’re more than happy to help you choose your next climbing trip destination or help fit a brand new pair of climbing boots.

Simon: Head Coach

I have been involved in performance coaching for over eight years running various squads around the region to great success, with British champions and many podium places at national finals. It’s exciting to be part of Boulders, their already very successful Academy, great training facility and have the support of a very motivated team. I hope to build on Boulders success with youth climbing and help guide our young climbers to their next step and beyond.

One of the young climbers I had the privilege of coaching was once faced with a difficult time at a World cup event. Whilst I was looking for words to help ease the tension and motivate, it was her father who strode in with the best line I have heard outside of a Hollywood blockbuster – “if it’s worth winning, it’s worth loosing!” This is a phrase I’ll follow always, thanks Rick!

South Wales, which is a really odd answer, but I love the fact that even after 16 years living here I’m still discovering new places to climb. As a passionate new router this is pretty special.

Tori: Yoga Teacher

Tori first started practising yoga in 1994. Like many students this was initially motivated by wanting to heal a ‘bad back’, plus some curiosity. She loved it! She has been teaching for over 6 years now and loves teaching at Boulders.

Tori is a fully qualified British Wheel of Yoga teacher, 500+ hrs with further training in therapeutic application of yoga.

Tori is also a keen singer, motorcyclist and occasional kayaker. Following a gap of around six years, Tori is getting back into climbing again.
