Format of the Competition

Round 1

Routes

In round one every entrant will make one attempt to top rope six different competition routes that get progressively harder. You will gain points by successfully on-sighting the routes or gaining height on the route. Maximum points will awarded to those on-sighting all six routes, less points will be awarded to those that gain less height. Your points across the six routes will be added together to give you a round one score and a position in a league table for routes.

Blocs

In round one every entrant will make one attempt to climb six different competition blocs that get progressively harder. You will gain points by successfully on-sighting the blocs or gaining bonus holds on the blocs. Maximum points will awarded to those on-sighting all six blocs, less points will be awarded to those that gain bonus holds. Your points across the six blocs will be added together to give you a round one score and a position in a league table for blocs.

Round 1 final score

An average of your positions will be calculated to give you a position in an overall Round one league table. Those placed in the top ten (numbers are subject to change) will qualify for the semi-final. In the event of a draw for 1oth place, all drawing individuals will qualify for the next round.

Semi-Final

All those qualifying from Round one will attempt a semi-final route and 3 blocs.  Scores will gained in each discipline in the same fashion as round 1 before being brought together to form a semi-final league table. Those placed in the top three will qualify for the final. In the event of a draw for the 1oth place, all drawing individuals will qualify for the next round.

Final

All those qualifying from the semi-final will attempt a final route and 3 blocs.  Scores will gained in each discipline in the same fashion as round 1 before being brought together to form final league table and the finishing results. In the event of a draw for first place a super final route will be attempted to separate first and second place.
